What a fantastic day! Many thanks to all those who attended to test out the re-vamped South MTB trail and have a go on Dirt Factory’s Airbag.

A beautiful day to celebrate the re-launch of our mountain bike trail. The weather was kind to us; sun and blue skies were the order of the day.
Vendors included Leisure Lakes, Bike Shack, Bury Clarian, NCA’s DR BIKE (Mr Fast Spanners himself..) Urban Cycle Centre’s recycled bike sale, Tame Valley Mountain Bike Association, SUEZ, SMART Fitness and Nordic Shield Mindfulness.
Tasty hot food was supplied by ‘All Star’ catering and ‘Shez Whippy’ provided ice creams.
Volunteers: Cheers to the MTB volunteers who have helped to get the trail ready for riders to enjoy. Their bicycle volunteering work helped put the finishing touches in place. Thanks guys!
What was the plan?
It was wonderful to meet and chat with some of you about our park’s goals. Many of you showed support for our plans to construct a trail and visitor centre near the main driveway. We also aim to revamp the North MTB Trail.
Our priority is to gain funding for the trail repairs. It is looking somewhat tired after 10 years of use. Sadly no provision was made for maintaining the trail. It was originally designed and built by Karl Bartlett and Mark McClure of 7 Staines and IMBA fame.
The trail centre may take a little longer. However, we will pursue the project via Bury council with a view to taking over the building.
Photographs from the event
Many of you have asked for the photographs which were taken on the day, by John Baguley. John is an Instructor with NCA and has kindly sent them on to us. Scroll further down to check them out and download the ones of you. These are free of charge.
